Scones made with fresh milled flour and Cardamom

This is the perfect treat anytime of the day. Cardamom give these Scones a warm cozy feeling. The freshly milled flour add a little nutty taste. A perfect combination.

Ingredients

  • 400 g freshly milled whole wheat flour
  • 100 g of room temperature Butter
  • 5 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp Cardamom
  • 4 dl Milk

Instructions

  • Cut the butter in thin slices so it can get to room temperature
  • Preheat the oven on 250 ℃
  • Mill your Wheat kernels on the finest settings
  • Mix all the dry ingridients
  • Add the butter and work into the flour mix. ( I like using my hands)
  • Add the milk
  • Combine without overworking it. The dough will be very sticky
  • Make 4 equal size relativily flat round bread
  • Shape them with lightly floured hands
  • Cut an X on each bread and prick with a fork
  • Put them in the oven for 13-15 min, until they hava a golden colour

Notes

  • The dough is supposed to be very sticky
  • If it's to loose let it sit a few minutes before putting it on the baking sheet
